Fire Hog FH - 1/2x28 Blast Shield, Linear Flash Suppressor Can Brake
Traditional muzzle brakes are particularly punishing to both the shooter and any individuals in the area as they spread a wide pattern of concussive blast, as well as Hot flying particulate as they mitigate muzzle rise and Recoil. The better the brake is at compensating recoil and muzzle rise the more severe the concussive forces are to any one in the immediate area (0-15 yards). This obvious performance edge comes with its draw backs, tactically working as a team, others will be negatively affected by "your loud AF rifle!" At the range no one will want to be close to you, and your friends and family will no longer want to shoot with you.
How do we try and solve this issue? We use a Linear Can type device that is designed to mitigate all 180 Degree muzzle blast and direct it down range at an approx 60 degree angle. The end result is Night and Day! Most people have different names for the same type of device such as : Blast Can, Flash Can, Concussion Redirection Device, Blast Forwarding Device, Blast mitigation device, Muzzle Sound Redirector, Linear Compensator, Blast Jacket, Blast Shield, Blast Diverter Redirector Sleeve, Blast Diffuser etc...
The FireHog FH uses an industry leading, Extremely effective 4 prong Flash Suppressor, coupled with our ultra light Blast mitigating shield designed to direct all muzzle blast down range. This Linear flash can setup is light enough at 3.87 oz complete, to be used on full length rifles and fully linear in design so it can be almost completely shrouded by your handguard in a short pistol or SBR configuration. comes with crush washer and a Jam Nut

I purchased one for my F-1 .223 rifle and the device works just as advertised. I used hornady 75gr superperfomance HP boat tail rounds and Shots taken before installing the blast director actually blew a shop towel and cleaning patches off the table of the shooter next to me at an outdoor range (he was cleaning his rifle). He also complained about the concussion felt to the side of me. Then with the blast shield installed, this was pretty much eliminated and it's also less concussive to me, the shooter. Difference to noise and blast is obvious and notable and the recoil was also better or at least perceived as better.
Was very happy to see no change in point of impact at 100yds for the 5.56 precision 3 gun build. In addition, the groups had no change and this precise rifle remained unchanged relative to groups at 100yds in the past for me. This was very important, because I wanted to be able to train and not harass the other lanes with my muzzle blast, and still be able to remove the shield when needed.
Quality of the part is excellent, correct fit and no rattles. Very happy with purchase and shipping was very good and fast.
I got this on pre order and used it for 300 rounds on my Galil ace 556 . The fit and finish is excellent and the linear design of the flash director makes the flash hider blast do what it was designed to do, Divert muzzle blast forward. The Shipping was very fast. Thank you Cobratac
My first Fire hog I bought on presale, went on my AR 223 pistol build and the FH combined with the Flash hider works well at moving the blast force down range and away from you. This is my second one and its going on a 300BLK AR 10" pistol shrouded under the handguard and with the flash hider brake it works awesome! Besides the fact that they redirect the blast down range as described, its so light weight and at 3.8 oz. Others I have tried in this price range were garbage rusty crap, this fire hog is premium quality and finish is great!
Bought 1 on presale for my 7.5 pistol, this is the 2nd of these blast diverters that I purchased. I liked the first one so much, that I decided to use one on my 10.5" SBR. It does what it's supposed to, directing all of the blast and percussion forward, away from the shooter, plus if I want I have a very nice flash hider break with the blast shield off.. I must confess I bought it because it's one of the best looking diverter out there in this price range on the market. I used this one on my This one is paired with the MI G3KL10 handguard I bought from cobratac, and it lines up perfectly from the end of the rail. Love it.
The sound signature actually seems to direct towards the direction you are aiming, and you can recover immediately from the muzzle flash. I do not care about how "cool it looks" to my friends, or myself. I purchased this based on function and pricing and ease of install. If you are a serious shooter, this is the best preforming blast mitigator for the money hands down!
Excellent product Good Quality, Pricing is very good for what it is! I got one for my 7.5" and 10.5" shorty builds both work great. Fast shipping I will recommend this and buy more myself.
I put this on my DD 16" AR-15 and it works amazing! Very easy to install comes with a crush washer and a jam nut, Blast shield comes off easy enough to clean and does a great job on muzzle control lift. This blast shield allows you to make better follow up shots. and shipping was fast considering I ordered it on pre sale.
Purchased the Fire Hog muzzle brake kit for the AR I've been building. Looks great and works as advertised. The Blast shield is easy to install and take off within a few seconds. Definitely quality made!! Looked at some other similar types offered but I think the Black label Fire Hog for the money, looks the best and is by far the best price. Would highly recommend
Not too much to be said for the Fire Hog, Easy to put on, and most importantly, works as advertised! It has dramatically reduced the concussion around me as I shoot a 7" 300 blackout. works great for ranges when the lanes are packed... those around you while you shoot do appreciate it!
Used the fire hog on 16" DMR with excellent results. I noticed Improved muzzle rise with minimal concussion to adjacent shooters. I thought it may be very heavy at the end of the barrel it is surprisingly light and nimble. The shroud can be removed and you're left with a highly effective Flash Hider. Don't hesitate , No regrets.
Does not add a lot of length, does what it's supposed to do and also has a very nice aesthetic appeal. Looks bad ass actually.
