Product Description
Super Hawg 9MM BFD Linear Flash Concussion Forwarding Muzzle Brake - 1/2x32 (MD-0120249)
This linear Super Hawg compensator is a linear family of compensators that channel and redirect sound and gas concussion reports away from the shooter and down range at a narrow angle. This device is particularly useful for shorter barreled applications like AR Pistol builds and rifles with short barrels. The Linear comp features 1 main forwarding baffle with 6 way vented helical ports that work at redirecting blast down range at an 80 degree slope. The outer can is knurled and then 6 way spiral fluted for added weight reduction and aesthetics.

9mm bfd
This is a great thread protector but that’s all it is, there is no blast chamber to let gasses come out of the ports, all the gas comes straight out of the opening for the bullet. The ports are just drilled holes with no opening. Probably wouldn’t have bought it if I had known.

Fisrt off the good: the compensator seems to be well made (with one machining flaw I will discuss in a moment), and is centered on the bore. The knurling makes it VERY convenient to put on or take off and is one of my favorite features. No blemishes that I can see. Finally, it is built stout. I think it could survive the apocalypse and still function. Now to the one issue I have. I bought one with the 5/8 thread pitch for .30 caliber barrels, and one (this one) for a 9mm PCC. The .30 caliber compensator was good, no issues and I would rate it 4 solid stars. The 9mm compensator was not milked correctly however. The interior chamber that connects to the holes meant to redirect gasses out the front was not milled. It appears the manufacturer skipped a step when they machined it. I sent an email to the customer service but received no reply, so I will either need to mill it correctly myself, or use it as a flashy barrel extension. It won’t “compensate” in its current configuration.
