Product Description
Century Arms 5.45x39mm 60-grain FMJ is bulk-priced training and practice ammunition for AK-74 pattern rifles, offering the characteristic flat trajectory and mild recoil of the Soviet-designed intermediate cartridge in an affordable steel-cased package. The 5.45x39mm cartridge was developed by Soviet engineers in the 1970s to provide a lighter, more controllable alternative to 7.62x39, and the 60-grain steel-core projectile delivers 3,000+ fps from a standard 16" barrel for a remarkably flat-shooting, low-recoil training round well-suited to high-volume marksmanship development. Steel cases are Berdan-primed and are not recommended for reloading, but at this price point the ammo is intended for range consumption. Lacquer-coated steel cases feed reliably in properly-maintained AK-74 platforms and Century Arms source rifles. The 30-round box is compact field packaging; case-quantity pricing is where the real value appears for volume trainers.
