This is a good product especially for the price, but the fit and finish could be better. Not all of the slots where perfectly machined. The free float adapter is held on by 5 screws so if you want to run the forend upside down like I did you need to drill some new holes in the carbon fiber tube. I am using it upside down so that I can just use just one small piece of rail to mount my front sight instead of having to use the full length rail, just to make it as light as possible.

extremely light weight and solid. took a little time to get everything lined up and centered -- about 1/2 hour. feels good in hand too. time will tell how durable it is but for my needs, it will be fine. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for light duty or range use.

I was elated to find this item during an extensive web search for parts for my AR build. The CTS carbon fiber hand guard was perfect and gave the exact sleek look I wanted along with substantial weight savings. It is a great conversation piece for the range and allows you add a variety of accessories due to the multiple Picatinny rails, (which are themselves removable). It comes with all mounting hardware and a nosecone end cap for the open end of the hand guard. Well worth the money. I am thinking of ordering another for a second upper build with a longer barrel. Do yourself a favor, buy one.

The Cobra Tac carbon fiber AR-15 hand guard is 99.9% the quality at half the price of a comparable AP Customs hand guard. The difference appears to be purely cosmetic. The hand guard is very light, and, unlike aluminum, doesn't get too hot or too cold. Very easy to install. Tremendous product for the price. I will buy more so long as the price stays right.
