The LBE Unlimited H2 Heavy Carbine Buffer is a hydraulically tuned, tungsten-weighted buffer designed to slow the bolt carrier group cycle rate in DI (direct impingement) AR-15 and M16 pattern rifles running overgassed conditions — suppressed fire, short-barreled rifles, and any host with an overly ported adjustable gas block setting that causes felt recoil to spike and BCG carrier tilt to increase. At 4.2 oz, the H2 is a significant step above the standard carbine buffer (3.0 oz) and the H1 (3.8 oz), adding meaningful cycle-slowing inertia that allows the gas pressure to drop to safe levels before the bolt carrier unlocks, reducing felt recoil, eliminating carrier key strike, and extending brass life by reducing extraction violence. For suppressor hosts specifically, the H2 is frequently the first tuning step that brings a previously unpleasant SBR or carbine gas system into a smooth, reliable, low-recoil operating envelope.
